Free Adult Heart Screening Event to Be Held at York College’s Grumbacher Sport

and Fitness Center

YORK, Pa.

— The Peyton Walker Foundation, in partnership with York College of Pennsylvania,

will host a free Adult Heart Screening on Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at

the Grumbacher Sport and Fitness Center on campus.

The event is open to adults ages 18 and older who are not currently under the care of a

cardiologist. Preregistration is encouraged. Participants will move through a four-station

screening process that includes a vitals check, an electrocardiogram (EKG), a heart

sounds/murmur evaluation, and hands-on CPR and AED training. The entire process takes

approximately 45–60 minutes.

Echocardiograms will be available onsite, free of charge, for those identified as needing

additional testing. Participants will also have access to complimentary genetic testing, which can

identify genetic changes that may indicate a higher risk for cardiac conditions.

“Sudden cardiac arrest is not limited to athletes—it can strike anyone, often without warning,

said a spokesperson for the Peyton Walker Foundation.

“These screenings can help detect

underlying heart issues before they become life-threatening.

Media is welcome at the event. A spokesperson with the Peyton Walker Foundation will be

available for comment upon request. Please call or text YCP Director of Communications Julie

Loeper if you plan to attend.
